KITESURFING - Witsand is rated as one of the top uncrowded kite-surfing destinations along the south coast of the Western Cape.
The onshore Southeaster, which is the prevailing summer wind, coupled with the protective sand bar, the estuary allows for flat-water riding, which makes it a great place to practice tricks or for novice kiters to learn the ropes. Kitesurfing lessons are offered by a local VDWS certified instructor during the summer months.
STAND-UP PADDLING - A fast growing board sport, and a very popular choice on the calm windless days on the Breede river. Enjoy this unique sport and explore the estuary and sandbanks as you go. SUP boards are available to rent at the Adventure Centre, conveniently located at the Breede River Lodge.
KAYAKING – A fun and thrilling way to spend a few hours, kayaks are available to rent at the Adventure Centre, conveniently located at the Breede River Lodge.
WATER-SKIING – No water-skiing is allowed in the lower reaches of the Breede River estuary, but there are demarcated areas further upriver for those wishing to enjoy both water-skiing and wakeboarding.
